BLACKBURN, HYDE-SMITH, BRITT ARRIVE IN DEL RIO SECTOR OF U.S.-MEXICO BORDER

DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) along with U.S. Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) and Katie Britt (R-Ala.) arrived at the Del Rio Sector of the U.S.-Mexico border on Monday evening.

The Senators will meet with leadership from the National Border Patrol Union and officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety for an operational briefing before departing to observe human and drug trafficking hotspots along the border.

“Unlike President Joe Biden, we are headed to Eagle Pass, Texas, where the real border crisis is occurring.  We will receive an unsanitized, firsthand view of the damage from President Biden’s open border policies,” said Senators Blackburn, Hyde-Smith and Britt.  “The Biden administration stopped construction of the border wall, halted deportations, suspended ‘Remain in Mexico,’ and stopped enforcing border security policies.  The first thing President Biden must do is enforce the immigration laws that are currently on the books.”
