The Hagstrom Report | Volume 10 Number 28

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., today asked the Agriculture Department to intensify efforts to stop what she called “illegally exported catfish-based products, such as fried crispy fish skin snacks, from entering the country and being stocked on U.S. grocery shelves.

In a letter, Hyde-Smith urged USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to remind Asian countries about the Federal Meat Inspection Act requirements on imported catfish and catfish products.
