HYDE-SMITH STATEMENT ON U.S. ECONOMIC GROWTH
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today praised President Trump and his administration as reports showed the American economy grew an extraordinary 4.1 percent in the last quarter.
“The American economy is growing at a remarkable pace, which is evidence that President Trump’s pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda of lower taxes and fewer regulations is working. Our economy is working better than it has in years, and its impact is being felt in Mississippi and across the country. The world feels it, too.
“Sustaining this growth and keeping unemployment at an 18-year low of 3.8 percent will require Congress to work with the President on policies that strengthen the foundation of our economy, including passing a new farm bill and pushing for fairer trade deals for American products.”
