WICKER, HYDE-SMITH SUPPORT CRACK DOWN ON ANTI-SECOND AMENDMENT ‘WOKE’ CORPORATIONS
Miss. Senators Cosponsor ‘Firearm Industry Non-Discrimination Act’
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today announced their support for legislation to prohibit the federal government from entering into contracts with entities that promote anti-Second Amendment policies.
The Mississippi Senators are original cosponsors of the Firearm Industry Non-Discrimination (FIND) Act (S.428), which would prevent any entity that discriminates against firearm businesses or associations from contracting or subcontracting with the federal government.
“It is clear the Second Amendment provides the right to keep and bear arms, but corporations across the country are trying to limit that freedom,” Wicker said. “The U.S. government should not be doing business with any company that seeks to infringe on this founding principle.”
“Too many corporations, financial institutions, and social media giants believe the Biden administration’s anti-gun beliefs give them cover to use their financial power to hurt the firearms industry and by association the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens,” Hyde-Smith said. “The FIND Act would ensure companies that are willing to infringe on our constitutional rights don’t profit from taxpayer-funded contracts.”
U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.), who introduced the legislation, said, “The Constitution is clear—the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, especially not by woke corporations that are taking Montanans’ hard-earned taxpayer dollars. We must send a clear message to these anti-Second Amendment companies that infringing on Americans’ Constitutional rights is unacceptable.”
The FIND Act is also cosponsored by U.S. Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kan.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-La.), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.).
The National Shooting Sports Foundation, Gun Owners of America, and National Rifle Association support the measure.
