By Liz Carroll
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJTV) - U.S. Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith reintroduced legislation to make civil right leader Medgar Evers home a National Monument.
The site would fall under the management of the National Park System. The two stressed the home's historic significance to the Civil Rights Movement and its place in American history.
Congressman Bennie Thompson introduced companion legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this week.
