Mississippi senators reaffirm support for Kavanaugh

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will vote Friday on whether to send the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the full Senate for a vote.
Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker says he will vote yes to confirm when the full Senate votes.
Christine Blasey Ford testified Thursday about her accusation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party over thirty years ago.
The California professor flew in to D.C. to share her side of the story.
Afterward, the federal judge emphatically denied any sexual misconduct.
"I just think there's a coordinated smear campaign by those who don't want someone of his philosophy as a swing vote on the Supreme Court," Wicker said.
Wicker, a Republican, says while he believes Ford suffered some type of trauma, the accusations do not add up against someone with such an outstanding record.
Mississippi's GOP Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith has also been supportive of Kavanaugh and argued Democrats are attacking a good man.
