Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith announces $5 million in grants to fund opioid treatment

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Health care clinics across the state are receiving grants to aid in treatments for opioid and substance abuse.

According to a report by WTOK, Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith announced Wednesday that 18 community health centers in Mississippi will receive just over $5 million in federal grants for opioid treatment.

The Expanding Access to Quality Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Services (SUD-MH) grant awards Mississippi health care clinics will receive are part of over 1,200 that will be awarded nationwide to support evidence-based strategies to treat substance abuse disorders.

East Central Mississippi Health Care, Inc., Sebastopol

Outreach Health Services, Inc., Shubuta
