HYDE-SMITH DELIVERS 2024 THANKSGIVING DAY MESSAGE
VIDEO: Senator Hyde-Smith Delivers 2024 Thanksgiving Message.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today issued a statement to commemorate Thanksgiving Day in which she encourages Mississippians to “give thanks – not just for the good, but for the strength we find in the challenges, and the hope that carries us through.”
The following is Hyde-Smith’s complete Thanksgiving Day message:
As we come together with family and friends this Thanksgiving, I wish my fellow Mississippians and all Americans a very happy and peaceful holiday.
We should use this time together to reflect on the many blessings that we have in this great country.
We give thanks for the gift of family, for the many freedoms we cherish, and for the opportunities that allow us to build a better future together.
Today and every day, we are especially grateful for the brave men and women in uniform whose sacrifices protect our freedom; for the dedicated first responders who keep us and our communities safe; and for all of their families who may be gathering without them today.
As we celebrate, let’s also remember those who may be struggling – whether through hardship, illness, or loneliness. In these times, we should extend a helping hand to our neighbors and show the love and compassion that make us strong as a people.
I like to reflect on these words from First Thessalonians: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
May we all remember to give thanks – not just for the good, but for the strength we find in the challenges, and the hope that carries us through.
May God bless you, your families, and our beloved country. Happy Thanksgiving – I hope it is filled with peace, joy, and gratitude!
