Senate Unanimously Passes Grassley’s National Foster Care Month Resolution

WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), co-founder of the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth, applauded unanimous Senate passage of his resolution designating May as National Foster Care Month. Grassley advanced the effort with the support of 21 bipartisan colleagues, including Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), who currently co-chairs the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth with Grassley.

“Every child deserves a safe, loving and permanent home,” Grassley said. “Our resolution raises awareness of the unique challenges foster children face and thanks foster parents, social workers and advocates for their dedication to the wellbeing of foster youth.”

Grassley and Stabenow were joined by Sens. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Bob Casey (D-Pa.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Mark Warner (D-Va.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), Mike Crapo (R-Ind.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), James Risch (R-Idaho) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.).
