U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith recently toured Adranos’ solid rocket motor production facility in Stone County, Mississippi. The Senator was in Stone County visiting local businesses, including aerospace propulsion manufacturer Adranos, Inc.
Adranos, founded in 2015, manufactures rocket motors for national security and space launch applications. The Mississippi Solid Rocket Complex is Adranos’ primary site for rocket motor design, test, and production.
“Adranos is well positioned to enhance the U.S. supply of domestically built solid rocket motors. The Mississippi Solid Rocket Complex has the capacity to increase the supply of rockets by thousands of units per year,” said Adranos co-founder and CEO Chris Stoker.
Adranos continues to expand its Stone County workforce to meet growing demand for rocket motors.
Senator Hyde-Smith said Mississippi will continue to play a critical role in the future of U.S. national security innovation and defense production.
“It is very satisfying to see aerospace companies like Adranos solve critical challenges for the warfighter and improve domestic supply chains for essential defense products,” said Senator Hyde-Smith. “I commend Adranos for its contribution to Mississippi’s overall aerospace industry and the economic growth of Stone County.”
Adranos moved to McHenry in late 2020 and has benefited from support from the Mississippi Development Authority and the Stone County Economic Development Partnership.
“The Stone County Economic Development Partnership (SCEDP) was delighted to join Senator Hyde-Smith in the recent tour of Adranos, one of our premier industries in Stone County,” said SCEDP Executive Director Betsy M. Rowell. “The Senator’s work in Congress has given her an impressive depth of understanding of the defense industry and the importance of keeping our military well equipped for missions. Visiting the Mississippi Solid Rocket Complex was a wonderful opportunity to see first-hand the operations of this growing industry, which is working to fulfill those missions.”
In addition to attracting aerospace businesses like Adranos, Stone County has attracted businesses from other sectors, including lumber and agriculture.
