HYDE-SMITH: ARMY AWARDS $10.3 MILLION CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR STARKVILLE ARMY RESERVE CENTER
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today announced that a veteran-owned Mississippi company has been awarded a $10.3 million contract to build a new Guy II & Will Jones U.S. Army Reserve Center (USARC) in Starkville.
The Army awarded the construction contract to Trans4Fed, LLC, of Purvis, a company described as a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business.
“This is a long-awaited military construction project to replace an outdated facility with something that will better serve the training needs of the Army Reserve,” said Hyde-Smith, who serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee. “I’m also very pleased to see that a Mississippi company will make it a reality.”
Congress appropriated funding for the USARC project in 2015. The estimated contract completion date is May 31, 2021.
