HYDE-SMITH ANNOUNCES $10.6 MILLION DEFENSE CONTRACT FOR TISHOMINGO CO. MANUFACTURER

Defense Logistics Agency Taps Golden Manufacturing Co. to Produce Military Trousers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today announced that the Defense Department is exercising a contract option with the Golden Manufacturing Company, Inc. in Golden, and providing $10.6 million for the firm to continue producing military garments.

The Defense Logistics Agency issued the first of three one-year options associated with a $15.9 million contract awarded in May 2019.  The $10.6 million one-year option is for the Tishomingo County-based company to produce various types of trousers and slacks for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.

“This contract option can be seen as certification of the good work being done by Golden Manufacturers and its workers to provide our military with quality garments,” Hyde-Smith said.  “I’m pleased that this defense funding will support our national defense and jobs in North Mississippi.”

This latest award is a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, with an Oct. 23, 2021, ordering period end date.  The $10.6 million is funded through FY2021-2022 defense working capital funds.
